About

Hand made, hand painted wooden toys – done properly!

Established in 2019 and run by cousin team Maria and Jenny.

We are a small family run business, two cousins who love watching our children learn through play and be creative.

We both have creative backgrounds, marketing and photography, which together combined have created our wonderful world of play that is Timber Tots.

Our aim was to design wooden animals with inviting surface feel, simple designs, but beautiful colours to appeal to all ages and to be played with over and over again. To last the test of time and the test of toddlers!

All of our animals are sanded by hand, which gives them a different look and feel to machine sanded products.

We are firm believers in the power of play, to encourage children to immerse themselves in their imagination and follow where it takes them. Engaging children in open ended play, with quality toys, will encourage their creativity, confidence and social skills. Here are a few tips from us on how to encourage open ended play.

  • Get outside with our animals. Nature is the perfect environment for inspiring open ended play.
  • Invest in quality toys that are long lasting, hard wearing and will last the test of time.
  • Create an environment to play. Some children are perfectly able to go on their own journey with play and it comes more naturally to them, others need a little bit of direction to get started, such as setting out a few of our animals in a scene.

All of our animals have been tested according to British Standards and are painted using only EN71 certified paints and sealants.

If you need to clean our animals please wipe clean only, using a damp cloth. Please do not submerge the animals in water and do not use disinfectant or hot water.
